Albany Capitals Coaches

The Albany Capitals organization prides itself on the quality of its coaches. They are all knowledgeable, experienced basketball people who share a love for the game and a desire to teach its fundamentals.

16 National

Head Coach Steve Lombard
Steve is currently varsity head coach at Saratoga Catholic High School. Steve has coached boys and girls high school basketball for 14 years. This will be his 5th year as a Capitals coach.

Assistant Coach Steve Gigliello
Steve is currently the varsity head coach at Holy Names. This will be his 4th year with the Capitals.

16 State

Head Coach Warren Dart
Warren is currently on the coaching staff at Saratoga High School. Warren has many years of experience coaching basketball. This will be his 3rd year coaching with the Capitals.

Assistant Coach Kristen Dart
Kristen is a former Capital and played basketball at Lycoming College. This will be her 2nd year coaching with the Capitals.

15 National

Head Coach Audra DiBacco
Audra is currently the varsity assistant at Catholic Central High School. Prior to that, Audra spent four seasons as varsity head coach at Bishop Gibbons High School. Audra played in college at Siena and is entering her 6th year as a coach with the Capitals.

Assistant Coach Guy DiBacco
Guy is entering his fifth year as the boys varsity coach at Lansingburgh High School. He was previously the boys varsity coach at Catholic Central High School. Guy has also coached AAU boys basketball for 13 years. This will be Guy's 1st year coaching with the Capitals.

15 State

Head Coach Kristin Alonzo
Kristin played college ball at Russell Sage and has been a head coach at the Freshman level. This will be her 7th year as a Capitals coach.

Assistant Coach Kelly Murphy
A former Capital, Kelly played in college at Russell Sage. She has coached local youth, modified and freshman teams. Kelly is entering her 9th year as a Capitals coach.

14 National

Head Coach Don Kimmey
Don is currently the girls junior varsity head coach at Catholic Central High School. Prior to his seven years coaching in high school, Don coached youth basketball for ten years. He is beginning his 11th year as a Capitals coach.

Assistant Coach Rachel Scott
Rachel is a former Capital currently playing basketball at Union College. This will be her 4th year as a Capitals coach.

14 State

Head Coach Jim Bliss
Jim has been an active basketball coach for the past 18 years. In his many years of experience, Jim coached Shaker freshman girls, Shaker modified girls, teams at the Colonie Youth Center and Capital District League. This will be Jim's 3rd year as a Capitals coach.

Assistant Coach Dave Decker

Head Coach Jon Desso
Jon has coached AAU girls teams for many years, assisted the men’s coach at Hudson Valley Community College for one year, and is currently the girls varsity head basketball coach at Bishop Maginn High School. This will be Jon's 4th year coaching with the Capitals.

Julie Reilly
Julie, a former player at St. Rose, is currently a varsity assistant at Bishop Maginn High School. This will be her 1st year coaching with the Capitals.

13 State

Head Coach Jay Matthews
Jay has been coaching youth basketball for 4 years in the Saratoga area. He's coached both AAU (Saratoga Spa Shooters) and CDGBL teams. Jay comes with a wealth of basketball knowledge and experience. He played in college as well as playing for the Shenendehowa Varsity team that won the Class A Public State Championship in 1987. This will be Jay's 2nd year coaching with the Capitals.

Assistant Coach Heather Stec
Heather is a current basketball player for Siena College. Heather is entering her 3rd year of coaching with the Capitals.

12 National

Head Coach Paul Iachetta
Paul has coached boys for 5 years at the modified, freshmen and varsity levels at Waterford and Catholic Central High School. He has also coached AAU boys teams for three years. Paul played basketball at HVCC and was Athletic Director for CCHS. This will be his 4th year of coaching in the Capitals organization.

Assistant Coach Erin Murphy
Erin is a former Capital. She played basketball at Bryant College. This will be Erin's 1st year coaching with the Capitals.

12 State

Head Coach Lindsey Frament
Lindsay is currently the girls assistant varsity coach at Bishop Maginn High School. She played basketball at Catholic Central High School and Hudson Valley Community College. This will be her 5th year with the Capitals.

Assistant Coach Ashli Fragomeni
Ashli played basketball at Troy High School and is currently in her senior year playing basketball at Russell Sage College. This will be her 4th year coaching with the Capitals.

11 National

Head Coach Katie Flynn
Katie played for the Capitals, Columbia High School, and Utica College. She is currently varsity assistant at Holy Names. This will be Katie's 6th year coaching with the Capitals and 1st year as a head coach.

Assistant Coach Becky MacDonald
Becky is a former Capital who played college ball at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Becky served as an assistant coach at Russell Sage College. This will be Becky’s 3rd year coaching with the Capitals.

Head Coach Colleen Organ
Colleen played basketball at The College of St. Rose. She is currently the girls freshman basketball coach at Mohonasen High School. This will be Colleen's 1st year coaching with the Capitals.

Assistant Coach Karrah Madden
Played three years for the Capitals and at Colonie High School. (Section 2 Champions 2004-2005). Karrah also played basketball at the Albany College of Pharmacy. This will be Karrah's 2nd year coaching with the Capitals.
